This privacy policy explains how I use personal data and how I comply with the legal obligations of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). I have the utmost respect for the privacy of every individual and will always aim to protect any personal data that I am charged with processing, e.g. any data received in line with normal business operations.
By continuing to commission work from me you are indicating that you agree to my using your personal data as set out in this privacy policy.
Should you wish to discuss this in more detail or request that your data is curtailed or deleted, please contact me at any time at claudine@calmtranslations.com and I shall be happy to help.
‘CALM Translations’ is the trading name of Sole Trader and Professional Translator Claudine Maguth. I have been working as a Professional Translator since October 2011 and am based in Munich, Germany.
I hold certain core information on all clients I work with. This usually includes your name, title, company address, telephone and email; it may also include basic account information for the purposes of invoicing. This information has been obtained exclusively in the course of normal business operations. I have never bought data and have no plans to do so in future.
The sole reason for me to use your personal data is for the purposes of carrying out and invoicing the work you commission from me. I have never sold, rented or disclosed personal data – and have no plans to do so in future. I will never share your data with third parties without your express consent, unless required by law to do so.
I will only hold your personal data for as long as is necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was obtained. The exact retention period depends on various factors, including its relevance for ongoing projects for the purposes of quality assurance and consistency of the brand message; the nature and sensitivity of the data; and the legal and statutory requirements I am subject to.
You may request a copy of the personal data I hold on you at any point. You have the right to ask me to correct or update any personal data I hold on you where it is inaccurate. To ensure that your personal information is accurate and up-to-date, please advise me of any changes to your personal information that I need to be aware of. You may request that the data is curtailed or deleted, subject to the relevant legal and statutory requirements I am bound by.
As a Sole Trader I am the only person with access to the information held on my systems. I have procedures in place to ensure that your personal data remains secure and uncompromised, including password protection, data mobility and software update protocols and anti-virus software.
Should you want to discuss any aspect of data protection please contact me at claudine@calmtranslations.com.
